My lovely Dad, Gareth Davies, is 87 years old but remains as passionate about drawing now, as when he was an art student in Liverpool back in the 1950s.

He took a 4 year National Diploma in Design where he specialised in book illustration. In 1959 he was the first ever winner of the John Moore’s Scholarship which allowed him to study for a further year at the Central School of Art & Craft in London. Then he took a one year Art Teachers Diploma at Liverpool John Moores, before starting work as a teacher. But in 1964 he was given a post as senior lecturer at the Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall where he lectured until the late 80s.

Now in his golden years he sometimes struggles to decide what subject matter to create, but recently he started drawing a few animals in a very illustrative manner, as if he is coming full circle, and these superb drawings have now become a project on farm animals, and may well expand to depict other birds and animals.

We have decided to create signed archival prints from his wonderful originals, and I’m delighted to now be selling them in my new gallery. Please come and see them and if you make a purchase it will give my Dad more incentive to keep drawing! NB He is not doing commissions sorry.

The prints are 13x15cm (approx 5x6”) on 15x21cm (approx 6x8”) textured cotton-rag archival fine-art paper.
