About Glyn

Four Decades of Qualified Professional Photography with books on Royal Coffee Tables

Forty years as a full-time professional photographer following four years in photographic higher education at Falmouth School of Art, followed by University of Westminster (Harrow, London). Starting out as an editorial & documentary photographer I worked primarily for the yachting press and also titles such Country Life & Country Living. Clients included the National Trust, Forestry Commission, National Grid, First Hydro (HEP), S4C, ITV and most recently I worked on a large exhibition project for Betsi Cadwaladr / NHS.

In 2002, I established a studio & photography gallery in Menai Bridge which has sustained me and my work for over twenty years now. The gallery proved so successful that I could move away from commercial projects other than those I found fascinating or ethically important. In 2023 my lovely landlord sadly died and this prompted me to change location altogether, choosing Caernarfon as an exciting, history rich, destination castle town. I am now part of a creative retail hub at Cei Llechi (Slate Quay) where visitors will get the chance to see the work of numerous other artistic people. It also means I can start showing a different range of prints to most of those seen in my Anglesey gallery.

I've become (literally) immersed in maritime photography and am in the sea at some point most days, shooting images of seascapes, swimmers and other water users. I no longer have studio space but I still enjoy shooting ‘honest’ location portraits & documentary work.

I've featured frequently on TV & radio, most notably on ITV’s “The Island Strait” series where I was filmed for a year to record a year in my photographic life and how it was influenced by the unique Menai Strait that separates Anglesey from mainland Wales.

Interviews about my work have appeared in numerous magazines and publications over the decades but I'm particularly pleased to have published five books of my images, two of which, "Anglesey Landscapes" Volumes 1 & 2 were bought by the Prime Minister as a Royal wedding gift for Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

I have had numerous national and international photographic accolades over the years, but ultimately my career and the gallery survive on on real-world followers and collectors of my work.
